The staff No. 20 adopted in the winter of 1915 significantly increased the firepower of automobile armored cars. It was assumed that the number of machine-gun vehicles would be reduced to two, and instead of the third, a cannon-type armored car of the Garford-Putilovets type would be introduced, to which a passenger car, a motorcycle and a truck were added. According to this type, 22 new platoons were formed, which received numbers 13 - 24, 26-28 and 30-36. The first eight divisions of the fighting at the front also received cannon vehicles, but they retained three "Austin" at the same time.

Officer cadres were trained at the Officers' Rifle School, led by Major-General Filatov, also known for his three-wheeled cannon armored cars.
